2012 - In Pictures

A wonderful year of learning, growth, celebration, mourning, and great joy...

January - the largest pieced quilt top I've ever made, and certainly the one with the most pieces!

Orca Bay Mystery Quilt -- Finished Centre!

February - lots of work in the C&G - of which this is a...sample...

March - a successful entry into the Focus On Fibre Arts Biennial Exhibit, "Spaces & Places"

Nobody Here But Us (c) 2011

April -  I was honoured to be the Featured Blogger on The Needle and Thread Network

And shared Gallery space with my daughter at the Annual Lacombe Art Show and Sale...

May - finished "Memories of Mirror" -- both a tribute to my home-hamlet, which celebrated it's Centennial in 2012, and my assessment piece for Module 6 in the C&G -- and it now resides in the Mirror & District Museum

June -  SAQA Western Canada's travelling exhibit, "Meet the Best of the West" opened at the Central Alberta Quilt Show in Red Deer.  This included my piece, "Mutt and Jeff" (centre).

July - Mirror celebrated it's Centennial with a Big Bash the weekend of July 13-15...and shortly thereafter I adopted an eight-week-old kitten I've named Pookie.  Now just over 7 months old, she's both a delight and a distraction!

Pookie at about 8 weeks - July 2012

August - was very busy in the C&G...and included this little piece, one of two sent to the "Black, White & Red" exhibit at Gail Harker Center for Creative Arts in La Conner, WA

"Triangulation" - August 2012

September - I turned 60...and held my first-ever Blog Give-away!

October -   I celebrated Thanksgiving in Edmonton with my children, and returned later in the month to join them for a Simon & Garfunkel Tribute concert with the Edmonton Symphony.

November - I began sampling for my Final Assessment Piece in the C&G

And marked World Diabetes Day with a special blog post.  Oh...and I joined my second Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt-along...with Easy Street.  :-)

December - I passed 950 blog posts (with a give-away), and with the help of my priest, led my first Advent Quiet Day.

And just before spending a lovely Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my children, I finished my Final Assessment Piece for the C&G...and submitted the evaluation and photos to my tutor, Linda.

On December 30, I received her e-mail confirming I'd passed the course!

As Maggie Muggins used to say, "I wonder what will happen tomorrow?"

Happy New Year, Gentle Readers!
