The Muse has been active this week chez Marguerite, leaving me tired but content.
First, I am making progress on my ECQ block, having started a bit of silk ribbon embroidery, with a motif in the works (photos in a few days).
Next, I am turning the heel of the '50s sock started last weekend, the first of a pair to be donated to the fall sale for the local Grandmothers to Grandmothers fundraiser.
Third, though I worked at The Bookshop today, it was fairly quiet, and I was able to share my latest issues of Quilting Arts and Cloth, Paper, Scissors with my colleague, who is a definite Soul Mate where these arts are concerned. Along the way, we stumbled on these to-die-for sites:
Destiny Voyages, which offers workshops in exotic locations, on the subject of Extreme Visual Journalling. (I am going to be in Florida briefly at the end of January, as I am a participant in Jeannette's "Take Time To Cruise". It doesn't take too much of a leap to connect to the possibility of following the cruise with a 5-night, 4-day workshop with Ms. Collins at Key West...if I win the lottery so that I can afford it!!!); and
Art and Soul, a site offering mixed-media art workshops at various locations; and several more...
Next, I found away to transfer this photo (in a B&W version) to Extravorganza, which I will back with pink hand-dyed fabric, and quilt...
It's one of the glorious peonies from my backyard. Ever a fan, I have found the perfect Mary Oliver poem to accompany it (stay tuned)...
I know that to do anything with this piece in terms of the public, I will have to contact Ms. Oliver for permission. I am not worried that she'd refuse me; however, I hold her in such awe that the very asking will be a test of courage! Any and all prayers/words of encouragement would be appreciated!
