Anne Bancroft played my favourite author, Helene Hanff, who wrote the letters that became 84 Charing Cross Road...and though I saw her marvellous work in The Graduate, she will always "be" Helene for me, as I like to think they were close personality-wise. She was extraordinary; I'll miss her.
