Looking forward...

To later this morning, when I try to finish as many of the OBMQ Step 5 triangles as I can before noon!

Colour #3794 - "Wine"

To this afternoon, when I pick up that lovely extra ball of elann.com's 'Sonata Soft' and begin the final two dozen (or so) rows of The Christmas Sweater;

To this evening, when I watch Alistair Sim be transformed from Scrooge to saint in A Christmas Carol;

To tomorrow morning -- Christmas Eve! -- when I clean my house and change the beds in preparation for my children's arrival;

To tomorrow evening, when I join my trio and the congregation at St. Cyprian's Anglican Church, Lacombe, to welcome the Christ Child;

To Sunday morning -- Christmas Day! -- when I continue the celebration with my children, and we all look to see what Santa brought;

To Sunday afternoon, when we sit down to our festive meal;

To Sunday evening, after my son has left for home (5 hour drive and he works Monday), when my daughter and I spend time over the dishes and then relax in the living room;
Boxing Day Sew-In

To Monday -- Boxing Day! -- after my daughter's left for her home...and the house is quiet save the hum of my sewing machine...

So-o-o-o many blessings!

Christmas 2010

Not long gone...and certainly not forgotten!  I think I posted on Facebook that it was perfect --    which it was!

It began, of course, in a candlelight service at St. Cyprian's, Lacombe, on Christmas Eve.  After the service, there was birthday cake, and my son led those gathered in a joyful rendition of "Happy Birthday" for Baby Jesus.

Cheers to Christmas!
The next morning, we gathered up the Santa-filled stockings and all the presents from under my tree, load the car and headed north on the highway to Edmonton.

We (just three) celebrated at my DD's new house-fast-becoming-a-home.  She made her first Christmas roast chicken dinner.  I coached her on the gravy, and on basting The Bird.  He turned out...well...perfectly.  Add spinach-pomegranate salad (with goat cheese), a dollop of mashed 'yam-tatoes', and home-made dinner rolls...et voila!

MMMMMMMM!
Before we munched, though, we opened presents and called family who couldn't join us this year.   The good news for MomKnitter was that the sweaters suited their recipients -- and fit!

Other gifts were scented (bathing goodies, dark-roasted coffee beans), to be spen-ted (sorry; bad attempt at a rhyme!), or just plain goofy, like these keep-the-wind-out hats that Santa brought...

I know the Yarn Harlot claims that her family has Christmas celebration down to a fine art, but I'd say that she's got some competition, eh?
