Quick Update -- I Quilted It!

Okay, so I did what I said I'd do: I went into the sewdio and quilted the darned thing.  Then I trimmed it to 15 1/2" square (for now):

I tried to put swirls in the sky for cloud movement, and long, tree-like shapes in the rest of it.

I think it's calling for a bit of hand stitch before it's finished.
Oh, and a title would be a good idea too.
Somehow, "Playing With Trees" isn't quite right!  ;-)

Abandoned house?

Beautiful. Love your trees and the barren one with the horizontal shade under it. The red under the slits in the abandoned building is a good choice.

Love this, Margaret...it's so intriguing, and the composition really draws me in...

Margaret, I really like where you are going with these abandon buildings. Funny as I have many photos of local abandon buildings, decrepit barns and the like and have purchased some paintings of the same but I have never attempted to portray them myself. I really like what you have here, you've captured that feeling that makes one wonder "who built this? why was it abandoned"

I like what you have done with the trees and building. Quilting skies is difficult---it would be a great discussion topic.

I like how you have resolved this piece... tree forms are terrific and unique. I see more discussion on skies here (following Judy's recent post!)
