Looking for Beautiful Textile Art?

Picked for the Ripening
The Annual SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates) Benefit Auction begins September 12th!

Here is my little contribution on hand-dyed fabric with free-motion quilting, photo transfer and a bit of Shiva (R) Painstik embellishment.  I created this piece a couple of years ago, and it took 3rd Place in the "Small Wall Quilts" section at the Biennial Focus on Fibre Arts Exhibit in Edmonton in 2010.  "Picked for the Ripening" is a tribute to our short Alberta growing season.  Our tomatoes hardly ever ripen on the vine!

P.S.: The photo of the basket of tomatoes was taken by my late husband, after a particularly good harvest in our home garden -- 2005, I think.  :-)

That is a great contribution, Margaret. I think your growing season is even shorter than ours!
