Waddling On

This little fellow (gal?) is an adelie penguin, and is going to serve as my mascot for this year, as I return to running in an attempt to lose 17 pounds and increase both my fitness and my lifespan. I've been influenced and inspired for the most part by John Bingham who writes -- books, a blog, and a column in Runner's World -- for those of us who want to run merely for fun and fitness. To track my progress, I've started a journal with Adelie on the cover, and called it 'A Waddler's Wanderings' in honour of John and his running philosophy.

Now if I could only figure out how to knit while I'm running...

Well good for you I say! Run it off! And penguins make great mascots. They always look so dignified when standing still though. Can you handle that part of it?

Have a Happy New Year!

Hooray! Good for you my dearie. Certainly we all love to think about getting fit after a holiday season - I too am buckling down to more workouts. I'm not a runner, but I love exercise of all sorts. I want to get back the healthy strong body I had in 2004. We can share WW stories!
