Let the Games Begin!

I've been inspired! One way to for sure get myself a pair of socks finished: challenge myself to knit a pair in the
Knitting Olympics -- to begin with the lighting of the Real Olympic Torch in Turino, and to finish at the end of the Real 2006 winter games.

I figure socks are appropriate winter knitting...next to mittens, gloves, hats and scarves...but perhaps more challenging (at least, for me -- I struggle with Serious Second Sock Syndrome.)

The Yarn Harlot, Stephanie Pearl McPhee, is behind this -- and she's recruited 2,500 challengers, and counting. Every knitter's welcome to join the fun. See you at the Games!

Ah, Dear Bess...it's unlikely, but I am going to give it my darnedest! And Trek, as I mentioned in my e-mail -- what a kind invitation! But I cannot, you see, for like Stephanie Pearl McPhee, I Am Canadian! :-)
May the best team win!
