Joy to the World!

Thanks to my spinning friends at KR, I am finally getting the hang of my Ashford "Joy", which I bought a couple of weeks ago at Shuttleworks. I have managed to spin up some Country Roving and have a batch on the knitty noddy, waiting to be rolled into a ball. It's one ply, and clearly novice, but hey -- it'll make me a great cap or scarf or something...

Today's the first day of Summer at my Four Seasons stitching class at Traditional Stitches. Typically, I'm on the last section of the "Spring" sampler, but I am making progress!

This afternoon I'll be coffee-ing with two girlfriends in succession. I plan to take along 3 projects -- gloves I'm knitting for my DS in Paton's Kroy (a B&W tweed), the Turtleneck Tank I've just started for my DD in "Katia" (cotton tape in a blue and grey mix), and the "Star for All Seasons" table runner for our dear friends' anniversary -- the binding of which I am just beginning to sew! (No ambition there, right?!)

Thirteen more sleeps and I get the summer OFF! Yep, you read that correctly! I am taking 3 weeks of holidays, followed by an LOA till after Labour Day...

Time to refresh my soul after seven years of increasing stress and loss (none of which gets reflected here in high relief because I have created this blog as a place of enjoyment and the sharing of thoughts and ideas).

First, Today!
