Goodies!

Yesterday my order from Elann.com arrived. It was all I could do to keep from drooling all over the parcel as I was opening it. On top was the Classic Elite 'Believe' ("Spaced-Dyed) in tangerine/taupe/white that I'm going to use for a Dear Friend who shall as yet remain nameless, but who has a birthday in the spring.

Then there was the glorious deep steely-tealy blue Peruvian Collection Baby Cashmere for some super-soft sockies, and some P.C. Sierra in a deep tweedy-red wine, for the "Simply Garter" vest from Folk Vests, and last (but not least) some plummy-purply Austermann Marina for a soft Jean Frost Jacket (Pattern #01, Newberry).

Of course, by the time I actually get to doing the work, I may have changed my mind about the precise patterns...!! For now, I am catching up on my "Four Seasons" Club sampler for Autumn that I got from dear Janice at Traditional Stitches. I go there later this a.m. for our monthly meeting, and will pick up Section 1 for "Winter" -- when I'm still finishing #2 (of 3!!) for Autumn!! Ah, but I am getting the hang of this embroidery-on-incredibly-fine-and-uneven-linen bit... Last night I worked on the grapes, pumpkins and 'Tree of Life' from the central panel, while "oohing" and "ahhing" over the patterns in the February (!) 2004 issue of
Knit 'n' Style. Spin-Off isn't in yet, but I can be patient. I just hope it arrives for my holidays at the end of next week!!

Must away. Time for walkies!
