Another Loss...But What a Life!

Maya Angelou - photo from her website.
Maya Angelou, 86 -- poet, story-teller, performer, activist and All-'round Wise Woman -- has died.

I have long admired her poetry, have read some (not all) of her autobiographical stories, and hung on her words whenever I caught her in an interview with one of her greatest admirers, Oprah Winfrey.

She blessed many with her life and work; she continues to bless us with her legacy.
All my work, my life, everything I do is about survival, not just bare, awful, plodding survival, but survival with grace and faith. While one may encounter many defeats, one must not be defeated. - Maya Angelou*

I first encountered Maya Angelou in the movie The Quilt and I've since tried to read lots of her books. A gracious lady, an inspiration.
