More "Aspen"
This past weekend, 2 friends and I gathered at my place to play with dye, fabric paint, soy wax resist and other forms of stitching (for Saturday evening, when it rained and we stayed indoors). I had an "Aha!" moment: I remembered I had an easel, mounted "Aspen" on foam core and hung it upright. What a difference it made to my perspective! I was able to get a clear idea of how to paint in more leaves and branches, and the result was this:

Now I'm ready to think about the quilting! I've prepared a small sample of painted leaves-against-sky to try my free-motion ideas...stay tuned!
