Sent off today:
GIFT BAG

...to the newest member of our family, a baby boy in Vancouver. I don't know his name yet, 'cause his Baba (Yiddish for 'Grandma') hasn't told me -- but his parents are terrific young people, so I'm sure he's a cutie.

The hat is the Very Basic Baby Beanie from designer Janet D. Russell; the bootees are Textured Cuff Bootees from Zoe Mellor. I've had her book, 50 Baby Bootees to Knit, in my stash for years (a treasure found on a remainder table at Chapter's Books) but this is my first use of it. Goes to show, "you never know" when knitting book will come in handy.

The gift bag is the smallest of 3 sizes offered on a pattern card by Valori Wells, which I bought at Joggles.com. I got it with the thought that my friend B might use it with her sewing classes. However, I'm impressed by the ease at which this little bag came together, and I might just make more of 'em. To heck with buying gift wrap! :-)
