Whoo Hoo!

Here's the e-mail I got this morning:

The results for Synthesis - the traveling show SAQA Canada show are in!

There is GOOD NEWS for everyone who entered. We have decided that all of the entries will be shown at CreativFestival at the Metro Toronto Expo Centre October 17-19. Shipping instructions will be coming to you via email shortly. We are currently looking into an easier way to hang the work that does not require a dowel or fishline. Instructions in regards to that will also be included.

After careful deliberation the jurors have made their choices for the 21 works that will travel across Canada. Your piece, Snippets: A Quilt Artist's Learning Curve has been selected. Many of the dates and venues for travel are still pending but we do know that Synthesis will be in Cape Breton March 10 - April 25, 2009 and will end in Calgary at Quilt Canada in May 2010. As more information comes to us we will pass it along to you.

Congratulations!
Karen

Emphasis mine, of course! I'm over the moon! And here's the piece that will be in the exhibit: (Copyright: G. Margaret Blank, 2008)
It's a 16" square piece, rough-edged, created with snippets from my ort (thread) bag and scraps from my scrap stash. I await instructions about how to finish it for hanging, and then off it will go to Ontario. The best news, however, is that the travelling show ends here in Calgary in 2010, so my friends will get to see the piece too. :-)
