In the heat of summer...

I've been quilting. Yes, I do knit on my MS3 in the early mornings, when it's cool...but this is a quilt top I gave to my Dear Sis for Christmas '06 -- and I only just got the back pieced. I love to use left-overs from the front for this, and I added some extra yards of the pink in the border, plus a fat quarter from my stash to make it all fit. Today: pinning and marking. Then a break...it takes a build-up of new energy for me to machine quilt it!

While walking these days, I'm making afghan squares in some sort of chunky yarn that Mona had in the donations pile in the shop. At Knit Night there on Thursday, each one of us went through it to take some. I selected cream (two balls) and navy (one large ball); I expect to get at least six 10" squares out of it, and have already finished my first one. Once they're completed, they go back to Mona. She's found three ladies that meet regularly, just to assemble squares into afghans, which they then distribute to various charities. I have to admire 'em, as assembly is my Very Least Favourite Thing about knitting! Sew on, Ladies!
