Two More Sleeps

...till I turn 53.

It's been a lovely summer, gone too fast.

I have managed to knit up a storm, though, and there is still no satisfying my fingers. Knit, knit, knit. The back and 2 fronts of one hoodie, started the back of another. Working on the border of my Shetland shawl, and on two garter-stitch scarves of novelty yarn. And on the tip of my qiviuk shawl. Also finished a receiving blanket for a neighbourhood baby-soon-to-arrive, and 4 squares for a charity afghan (via my LYS, The Knitting Room).

Plans in my head: a Very Harlot Poncho, two pair of fingerless gloves for two special young men, a gansey for my DSIL -- all as Christmas gifts! -- a pair of angora mittens for who-knows-who, and a Faroese shawl (for me!). A chunky 'mistake rib' scarf -- also for WHW...

Meanwhile, I am also stitching a pair of little Provincial emblems for a wedding gift, and two samplers...and working on 2 art quilt pieces (with 2 more in my head) and 4 regular quilt tops -- in various stages of completion!

And my online writing class with The Writers' Croft, inspired by the wonderful, mystical Oriah Mountain Dreamer...

Ah, it's a grand life!

Happy Birthday today, tomorrow and all September. Whew, you have been busy. Inspiring me to buckle down and finish all those projects in my stash. May you have many many more wonderful summers of fiber and fun.
